In 2018, ErvoCom got the contract by Joca-Molinari to build the entire communication system for the new light rail system in Cochabamba (Bolivia). The urban railroad consists of several lines and twelve vehicles from Stadler Rail. ErvoCom supplied the whole communication facilities, passenger information, CCTV and ticketing system for both the rolling stock and the infrastructure (stations, etc.). A TETRA radio infrastructure with eleven base stations was installed, with which the train drivers can communicate with the dispatcher via the train radio system. The passenger information system including Intercom and PA system were also connected to the Train Radio to offer the customer highly reliable and available communication via TETRA. The entire passenger information and train radio system is controlled centrally and intuitively via a touchscreen in the driver's cab. The train dispatcher TRADIS can be used to communicate with both the train driver and the passengers on the train and at the stations. Announcements are generally always being made fully automatically. Furthermore, the Intercoms on the train are linked to the CCTV system and offer the option of receiving a video stream via the public provider network on the TRADIS in addition to TETRA communication.
