Stadler is supplying a total of 286 FLIRT trains to SBB, Thurbo, and RegionAlps under the FLIRT Evo project, alongside an option for up to 224 further vehicles, of which several have already been ordered. Within the scope of this project, ErvoCom was contracted by Stadler as a subcontractor to provide essential communication components for SBB’s new APFZ2.0 passenger information platform. The scope of supply includes audio amplifiers (PAS2171), passenger intercoms (FGSS2197), emergency intercoms (HRSS2197), driver intercom units (uCOB2200), as well as Text to Speech terminals, which are also based on the uCOB2200 hardware platform. As part of the project, ErvoCom developed several tailored solutions, including customized software for the Pixy HMI for the APFZ2.0 platform, as well as software for a Text to Speech terminal based on ErvoCom’s proven uCOB2200 hardware platform, which is already deployed by SBB. Both development and system acceptance were successfully completed in 2023. The delivered solution includes ErvoCom’s operating system ervoOS, featuring an API interface for seamless integration with SBB’s passenger information system TIMS, as well as extended web interfaces for configuration purposes. The initial scope of delivery comprises more than 6’000 components.
