The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) launched a tender last year for new passenger and emergency intercom units. ErvoCom once again prevailed as a trusted long-term supplier and will equip SBB with up to 11’000 intercom units for new rolling stock as well as retrofit projects. The second-generation intercom unit, developed in accordance with the latest RT40100:2024 standard, combines state-of-the-art audio technology with enhanced noise suppression to ensure maximum speech intelligibility. The contract award further strengthens ErvoCom’s position as a leading provider of PA- and intercom systems and highlights SBB’s continued confidence in ErvoCom’s innovative solutions.

Together with Interautomation, ErvoCom has successfully implemented the onboard and wayside passenger information system for the Centovalli Railway (FART). A key component of this project was the integration with the SBB CUS data hub, a nationwide Swiss platform that enables the exchange of timetable and real-time public transport data. Thanks to this integration, passengers now benefit from accurate real-time information on onward connections, delays, and other relevant travel events at all times. The successful implementation of the SBB CUS interface marks an important milestone in providing Swiss railway operators with modern, future-proof passenger information solutions.

ErvoCom has been commissioned to completely renew the TETRA on-board train radio system of Dublin’s LUAS light rail network. The TRU25 central control unit in conjunction with two HMI’s COCO2167 at either train head replaces the existing system entirely, ensuring future-proof voice and data communication across the entire network. A key component of the project is the central control unit TRU25, developed to precisely align with LUAS’s functional specifications and ensure full interoperability with current vehicle and infrastructure interfaces. After successfully delivering and commissioning the TETRA train radio dispatcher at the Operational Control Centre (OCC), ErvoCom was once again chosen to supply the new train radio systems, a result of strong customer satisfaction and continuous innovation.

ErvoCom continues its successful expansion into the international market and has won two new contracts in Asia this year. For the Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) "Velodrome to Manggarai" project, ErvoCom will supply Tetra-based train radio systems based on a ZSE2130 central control unit and a modern DMI2177 touchscreen HMI, which can be easily connected to the central control unit via the train's existing ETHERNET network. For the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), ErvoCom will supply ZSE2130 central control units and CoCo2137 incl. audio accessories. The delivery also includes option modules for integrating intercom and passenger announcement systems, the Train Information System (TIS), as well as for forwarding man-down and emergency brake alarms.

Following the successful rollout of ErvoCom technology across a large portion of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) fleet, another major European railway operator, Deutsche Bahn (DB), was acquired as a customer at the beginning of 2025. For Deutsche Bahn, ErvoCom is supplying the complete Phone & Announcement System (PAN), including the RCSS communication switching software. This software acts as a central communication hub while also serving as a tool for system configuration and commissioning. The new partnership underlines ErvoCom's increasing international relevance in the field of state-of-the-art passenger information and communication systems.

In 2024, ErvoCom was delighted to be awarded for a contract of Siemens India regarding the Tetra-based train radio and train dispatching system for Metro Pune Line 3, promoted by India's largest conglomerate, the house of Tatas & Siemens financial services. The scope of delivery includes 44 train radio systems TRS2090 comprising of central control units ZSE2130 including HMI’s CoCo2137 as well as a TRADIS2167 train dispatching system with two servers and six dispatcher consoles directly connected via the API of the Tetra base stations from Damm Cellular Systems. The TRS2090 and TRADIS2167 system solutions are customized to the requirements of the Indian market, so that the customer gets a system tailored to his needs.

ErvoCom has won the tender for the new train radio system of the Schneeberg railway in Austria, which is based on the latest McX technology. Following the success in Australia, the first 4G McX project in Europe, whose standard is an essential part of FRMCS, will thus also be realized. The historic rack railway under the Niederösterreich Bahnen organisation will receive a dual-mode system that runs both in the existing DMR radio network and via MCx in the 4G network, thus enabling optimum migration from old to new technology. In addition to the train radio, ErvoCom is also supplying the intercom system for communication with the passengers of the Schneeberg railway.
