After ErvoCom was awarded the contract for the Touch HMI, the company also won the tender for the digital audio amplifier PAS2171 in the same year. The PAS2171 is a high-performance digital amplifier, perfectly suited for deployment throughout the entire train. Amplifier controls are delivered alongside digital audio, in-band, via an Ethernet connection. With Integrated 100 V-Technology, the PAS2171 is well suited for retro-fitting older generations of public address systems. The system is modularly expandable with further audio amplifiers modules and also has a UIC interface, which can be used, for example, as redundancy.
SBB will install 264 Public Address System PAS2171 within the scope of the retrofit project, and the first trains have already been equipped with the new system.
